It’s no secret that balancing our work and personal lives can be challenging; we want to ensure a steady output at work whilst also having room for our free time, but when the office gets busy and other complications rear their heads, office hours can creep into personal lives - siphoning off our list of personal tasks and getting in the way of our important wellbeing goals.
Essentially, we are constantly trying to keep up a perpetual juggling act with our work, family, friends, and future. This can have a lasting impact on our physical and mental health, and with pressures from the current environment looming over us like the cost-of-living crisis and the ever-growing NHS waiting times, it can all get a bit exhausting!
That’s where we come in – at pirkx it’s our mission to provide workers and their families easy access to a long list of important wellbeing benefits, providing the helpful support you need during these challenging times. That’s why we are pleased to bring you our ‘Worry at Work’ campaign, where we will shine a spotlight on how the nations workforce copes with brining personal worries to work.
We have recently released the first chapter to our campaign, which is a light-hearted take on an important issue – how does the nations workforce feel about sharing their personal lives with their colleagues? We’ve asked 3,000 employed adults about whether they consider themselves to be over-sharers or under-sharers at work and whether this has an impact on their productivity or work satisfaction.
There’s no right or wrong here of course, after all, if we were all the same, the world would be a very boring place! Regardless of the answer, choosing to share personal information with colleagues or clients is a matter of personal choice, what is most important is that every worker feels that they have the support to manage their everyday challenges with a smile on their face, which we know has been scarce in recent years due to formal services being historically unaffordable, inflexible, or unavailable.
We will be releasing the next chapter of our campaign very soon, where we will be tackling more worry at work topics, but in the meantime, if you want to find out what kind of sharer you are at work click the link below and take the quiz!
